Our Community Programs

Founded in 1972, Haywood Vocational Opportunities, Inc. (HVO) is a private, not-for-profit social enterprise corporation providing vocational training and employment, and meaningful opportunities to individuals with disabilities and individuals from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds.  Our programs aid in the development of an individuals’ fullest employment potential and advocate for each to work and engage in the community as qualified and productive citizens resulting in their economic viability and independence.

 Since 1978, HVO has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), a globally recognized organization that provides accreditation services and helps programs implement best practices through proven systems and approaches. With over 50 years of experience, HVO serves individuals facing disadvantages, various disabilities, and physical or mental health conditions by offering hands-on employment training in manufacturing, custodial services, hospitality, retail, and food service to name a few. In addition to assistance with developing technical skills, participants are also trained in essential soft skills such as attendance, following instructions, and adhering to workplace policies.
